Award Winning Castle Accommodation
Traditional, slightly quirky or mildly funky rooms
Augill Castle has fourteen bedrooms or family suites. Some have four poster beds, others four poster baths. There are turrets for wardrobes, stained glass windows and big views towards the Lake District & Yorkshire Dales. All our bedrooms are decorated with bold colours and furnished with a mix of family antiques and contemporary pieces - no flimsy contract hotel furniture.
"The rooms of the castle are extraordinary in an over-the-top way that somehow manages to be tasteful... Bedrooms leap out at you"
The Times Cool Hotel Guide, December 2011
With an eclectic mix of art on the walls, you may also find such unusual additions to your room as a church pew opposite the loo, an African tribal hanging or Indonesian blowpipe above your bed.

Downstairs, roaring fires in winter may entice you not to venture out (there's even a twelve seat cinema!) but if you do there are 15 acres of grounds to explore with pigs, goats, hens, ducks and turkeys to visit. We have great walking straight from the front door and while you're with us you have complimentary membership of our local fitness club and spa three miles away in Kirkby Stephen.
