It might feel as if laughter has been in short supply over the last eighteen months or so. But not any more. In association with The Shoe Cake Comedy Club we’re bringing regular comedy to Augill Castle this autumn and your sides will be splitting with laughter as well as great food.

On the last Sunday of each month we’re hosting a comedy supper. A host of acts from TV, the regular stand-up comedy circuit as well as from the Edinburgh Fringe will entertain you over a two course supper (with a few extra treats thrown in) as well as drinks, including a new signature comedy cocktail list.

Ever since we hosted a Fawlty Towers dinner experience five years ago – it might even have been longer as all we know is that Oliver couldn’t hold his drink back then – we’ve wanted to put on more comedy.

Our first night is Sunday 26 September and the line-up is sensational.

The night will be hosted by Chris Lumb, with a quick wit, sharp impressions and a talent for warming up a crowd, he’s a well known face on the norther comedy circuit, as seen on Russell Howard’s Good News and Britain’s Got Talent.

Micky P Kerr will open the show with his unique mix of music and comedy of whom Simon Cowell said ‘unlike some acts who are not funny then are funny, you are always funny’ and David Walliams said simply ‘you don’t need me to tell you how funny you are’.

Nina Gilligan will follow with her sometimes outrageous, always hilarious observational storytelling comedy. She’s an award winning bolshier version of Mrs Merton. Nina was a finalist in the English Comedian of the Year 2016 and in 2021 is Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year.

And headlining will be the incomparable Troy Hawke – educated, sophisticated but utterly clueless.

‘Mad, comic genius’ says The Scotsman. He’s a veteran of the Edinburgh Fringe, twice nominated for the Amused Moose best Edinburgh show award and listed as one of the ten best comedy shows of the festival by GQ in 2019.
