It’s been a torrid two years since we first opened the restaurant at Augill but the dawn of 2022 brings with it a new and revitalised food offering at the castle.
The Music Room at Augill is our re-imagined dining experience. Set in what was once the castle’s ballroom, The Music Room is warm and atmospheric, grand but friendly and informal.
Our food and the surroundings are designed to create a convivial place to eat, socialise, relax and enjoy. Our new menus are complemented by our brand new Conservatory bar, bringing together the best drinks from around the world while championing British artisan producers.
Our new head chef, Meg Davenport is bringing fresh and exciting ideas to the table drawn from a career which includes Michelin starred restaurants, gastro pubs and her own restaurant.
She says ‘it’s all about the flavour, let’s be creative and use our imagination.’
Our menus will draw inspiration from around the world but we’ll source as much as we can as locally as we can because we understand our roots are in our community and that means supporting other local businesses.
During January and early February we’ll be working with Meg to develop new innovative menus for breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner and we’ll be holding a series of tasting events to introduce our local and regular customers to what we have in store.
Tasting events will be on Thursday 20 & 27 January and Thursday 3 February. We’ll be offering a four course tasting menu – usually £45 – for just £20 per person
In February we’re launching our brand new un-traditional afternoon tea – a re-imagining of the old favourite with more emphasis on savoury delights as well as delicious cakes and home-baked scones. Its a modern fusion of our sweet and savoury teas that have proved so popular. You can book for just £20 per person.
To book afternoon tea or dinner email us or call 01768 341937.
Afternoon tea at the castle is served daily, dinner is served Wednesday to Sunday. There is no dinner service on Monday or Tuesday.
