What do we mean by family friendly? At Augill we look after the whole family, not just children, by giving you space and freedom to be yourselves – as a family – because there are few things modern families crave more than the luxury of quality time together.
It’s philosophy over facilities.
There are few rules as happy families don’t need them. And besides, it’s a castle – who needs rules? We are particularly popular with multi-generation family get-togethers because everyone from granny and grandpa to the youngest member of the family feels equally at home. Is Augill right for you?
We know what works, what to do, where to visit, where to eat. There’s also our famous Augill Little Cooks children’s cookery school for a party with a difference.
We have a genuinely family friendly vibe, whether you’re with toddlers or teenagers, grandparents, relatives or friends.
The Library has books, games and toys – all low tech! We have a cinema (and popcorn too) and outside twenty acres to explore where you’ll find a well loved tree house, tennis court and playground. For teenagers those twenty acres provide plenty of scope to lose or find themselves and WiFi works throughout the castle (just don’t try to download an entire boxset – while our Wifi is superb, the broadband isn’t so everyone has to learn to share). Beyond that the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales offer a whole world of adventure and activities on our doorstep.
Why not get out and explore the Eden Valley on two wheels?
Eating at Augill is fun and flexible too. We don’t have a full service restaurant but offer evening meals at peak family times – weekends and selected school holiday evenings. At other times theres’ always something to ensure nobody goes hungry. And once bed beckons there are family rooms, interconnecting rooms, suites and everything you might need when travelling with children from cots & highchairs to baby monitors & spare supplies. We don’t offer a baby sitting service so please speak to us before you book if you need reassurance about the configuration of bedrooms or the layout of the castle.
