We’ve talked about it for a long time. We’ve dreamt about it for even longer.
In 2021 that dream becomes a reality.
This year sees the launch of 1837 – our very own hand-crafted small batch dry gin.
Distilled in collaboration with our friends at artisan gin distillers Hawkridge 1837 is a sublimely smooth gin flavoured with Eden valley honey with hints of heather from the moors that surround Augill, lavender and rosemary from our own gardens and blackcurrant leaf from our neighbours’ gardens.
Why 1837? It was the year the castle was built and Queen Victoria ascended the throne and in 2021 – truly an historic year. And after the two years we have all endured, what better than a gin to wash away the woes of the pandemic and set us on a new course to make history anew and look forward to fresh opportunities.
1837 will be available in our bar – of course – but it is also available to buy and, dare we say, would make the perfect Christmas gift.
Each bottle is £40 and we can quote individually for postage and packing depending on how many bottles you would like to buy.
Our first batch is just 200 bottles. Each one will be numbered by hand and so they’ll also make a beautiful reminder of your happiest memories of Augill Castle. We’ll be selling gin in batches, the first being numbers 50-99.
