Our restaurant, The Music Room @ Augill Castle has been greeted with high acclaim since its re-launch in February 2022. We were judged as one of Cumbria’s top four restaurants in this year’s Cumbria Tourism Taste Cumbria awards with our tardiness in responding to customers’ online reviews being one of the few things that judges could find to criticise. Our food is fresh, vibrant and full of flavours from around the world. We seek to marry the bold flavours and dishes which have influenced our cooking from our many travels with the finest local ingredients, bringing the world to Cumbria’s Eden valley.

Dinner is £40 for three courses, £32.50 for two.

Through the autumn we’ll be serving dinner from Wednesday to Saturday each week with a simpler offering of started and desserts on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Here’s an idea of what you might expect:

Marinated lamb chump – parsnip mash, water cress puree, crispy kale, balsamic red onion jus

Roasted supreme of Guinea fowl – pearl barley risotto, fennel, dressed rocket

Loin of cod – white bean mash, charred fennel, roasted cherry tomatoes, butter sauce

Wild mushroom arancini – chilli tomato sauce, pickled mushrooms, watercress, parmesan crisp

Aubergine – cous cous, winter vegetables with basil, new potatoes, spinach


Chocolate tart – strawberry ice cream

Vanilla panna cotta – fruit compote
