Our three winter tasting evenings have been a roaring success and we’re now excited to be putting the finished touches to our spring menus.

Our food is fresh, vibrant and full of flavours from around the world. Our new chef, Meg Davenport has worked in some top restaurants both here and internationally and seeks to marry the bold flavours and dishes which have influenced her cooking with the finest local ingredients, bringing the world to Cumbria’s Eden valley.

Dinner is £40 for three courses, £32.50 for two.

We’ll be serving dinner from Wednesday to Sunday each week and here’s an idea of what you might expect:

Courgette, tomato & parmesan soup – focaccia croutons, coriander oil

Hot smoked salmon, truffle, chilli, coriander slaw

Tea smoked duck – caramelised orange, rocket

Pickled beetroot, goat cheese mousse, red onion marmalade

King prawns – pineapple & chilli salsa, red pepper puree


Marinated lamb chump – parsnip mash, broad beans, water cress puree, crispy kale, balsamic red onion jus

Spiced venison haunch – celeriac puree, charred cauliflower, fondant potato, pickled wild mushrooms

Loin of cod – mussels, clams, crushed new potatoes, spinach, white wine & garlic sauce

Wild mushroom arancini – chilli tomato sauce, watercress, parmesan crisp

Aubergine – cous cous, winter vegetables with basil, new potatoes, spinach


Chocolate tart – strawberry ice cream

Vanilla panna cotta – fruit compote

Wine & spice poached pear ice cream, butter biscuit

Classic creme brûlée
