This autumn we’ve reinvented our evening menu – we’re calling it the Augill Italian Kitchen – to reflect our passion for Italy, its food and people.
Food at Augill has always been about the best ingredients simply prepared to bring out the best flavour and shared in a convivial setting where food brings people together and that philosophy is easily translated into Italian cooking which is based on the same principles.
Simon & Wendy and Italian food go back a long way. Wendy was tutored by celebrated Italian chef Giancarlo Caldesi at his restaurant in London and before buying the castle Simon ran a modern Italian restaurant in London’s Mayfair.
So, from October we are cooking every night except Tuesday and Wednesday – unless you have booked a special event – and bringing little Italian sunshine to the lengthening autumn evenings.
We’ll continue to host our famous three course dinner parties on Friday and Saturday with a new Italian feel. On Sunday it’ll be pizza night with freshly made pizza dough and a celebration of the best regional Italian pizza classics. On Mondays we’re serving lasagne to die for and on Thursdays a different Italian classic.
There will still be simpler options for younger guests.
As well as indulging our passion and sharing it with you, it’s all part of our wider commitment as a business to maintain our pride in being European – whatever the statute books might say after March 29.
