Afternoon Tea
Augill has become synonymous with afternoon tea in the Eden Valley and we’ve changed things a bit. We call it afternoon tea re-invented. Out go the finger sandwiches and in come a daily selection of savoury treats. Expect such delights as toasted panini or savoury brioche slider, mini tartlets, prawn cocktails or savoury fritters.
The Great British Bar
An exciting and inspirational concept in bar keeping – a fiercely independent British bar showcasing the best of small British distillers, brewers and fermentors with everything from spirits to cider & beer to soft drinks & mixers sourced from independent, artisan British producers.
Of course we’re happy to embrace a few immigrants from overseas to enrich our selection because some things are just best made in other parts of the world.
Our own Augill Castle 1837 Gin sits at the heart of the Great British Bar, a gin that embodies everything that Augill Castle now stands of – warmth, comfort and a deep sense of place, rooted as it is in the fabric of its surroundings.
Our Gin is softened with local Eden Valley honey with notes of heather from the surrounding Pennine moors, lavender and rosemary from the castle gardens, and blackcurrant leaves from our neighbours’ gardens.
