Events at the castle in 2023
Here's what's coming up at the castle
Comedy in a castle
Comedy is back this Autumn
Our occasional Comedy in a Castle – when the Music Rooms is transformed into a pop-up comedy club – brought to you in association with the Shoecake Comedy Club has become a legendary night out and will continue in Autumn 2023.
You can split your sides laughing with us on Sunday 15 October, Sunday 19 November and Sunday 17 December.
Tickets will be £40 including a two course supper.
Acts you’ll have seen on TV or at the Edinburgh Fringe will have you laughing your Sunday evening away while we feed you with delicious food and ply you with copious drinks.
Comedy in a Castle – like nothing you have experienced before
A taste of perfection
We have taken The Music Room at Augill back to its origins – the best local Cumbrian and northern English produce served simply in the friendliest relaxed surroundings.
Until the end of October the restaurant is open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday.
.We serve afternoon tea daily and would love you to join us.
Afternoon tea re-invented
This year we're offering something a little bit different.
It’s afternoon tea re-invented. Out go the boring sandwiches, replaced by a selection of mouthwatering cakes and savouries accompanied by our legendary scones with lashings of clotted cream and strawberry jam.
Afternoon tea is served daily between 2pm and 5pm.
Quickstep back to the 1940s
Join us for an afternoon tea dance
We’ll be remembering all things 1940s on Sunday 24 September with a very special tea dance.
Enjoy our legendary afternoon tea – a delicious mix of sweet and savoury treats – and dance to the sounds of the 1940s brought to you by Beverley Alexander.
Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a novice, this promise to be an afternoon to remember.
Our tea dance will start from 1pm and is £25 per person
