Events at the castle
Find out what's on at the castle in 2022
A taste of perfection
It has been a torrid time since we launched our new restaurant at Augill two years ago.
Now, with fresh hope that lockdowns are a thing of the past we are re-launching The Music Room at Augill with a new chef and new menus.
Our chef Meg Davenport brings a wealth of international experience to the castle kitchen and plans to marry culinary traditions from around the world with the best local Cumbrian and northern English produce.
To introduce or new food we’d like you to join us for one of three tasting evenings when you’ll have the chance to enjoy a four course taster menu – usually £45 – for just £20 per person.
We will offer meaty and meat-free versions each night.
Our tasting evenings will be on Thursday January 20, January 27 and February 3.
Party sizes will be limited to six and each evening has a maximum of thirty places so if you’d like to book your place, drop us a line below.
Comedy in a castle
Let's all laugh our way through 2022
Our monthly Comedy in a Castle has become a legendary night out.
Join us for supper and comedy on the last Sunday of every month brought to you in association with Shoe Cake Comedy.
Acts you’ll have seen on TV or at the Edinburgh Fringe will have you splitting your sides while we feed you with delicious food and ply you with copious drinks.
Comedy in a Castle – like nothing you have experienced before.
Two course supper & comedy £40

We’re moving our monthly jazz to lunchtimes from February. Soak up the atmosphere of the castle in our Music Room restaurant as you enjoy a delicious seasonal lunch, created by our new chef Meg Davenport, while swaying to the strains of our resident jazz band and singer.
Our Sunday lunchtime jazz will be on the second or third Sunday of each month, starting on February 19.
Two course supper and jazz £30 per person.
Flower days at Augill
Contemporary flower arranging days with award winning local florist Daisy Rocke
Whatever flower day you choose, you will be guided by Daisy in the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere of Augill Castle.
Eco friendly materials & tools are provided, together with a fabulous light lunch or seasonal afternoon tea – so all you need to bring is yourself. Learning takes place in our beautiful dining room and is restricted to 12 participants, so you will have plenty of space as well as Daisy’s care and attention.
30th Sept – Pumpkin centrepieces
26th Nov – Christmas wreath making
Each day starts at 10am with tea, coffee and yummy treats followed by a demonstration by Daisy. You then have the opportunity to work and learn, with lunch or tea served around 1pm with the day ending around 4 pm.
