Stenkrith Park & Poetry Path
Take a leisurely stroll through Stenkrith Park, where you’ll discover the enchanting Poetry Path—a series of poems etched into stone tablets along the riverbank. Meander through fields full of sheets and along the banks of the Eden River. You will also discover majestic and very drastic Stenkrith falls where the Eden cuts through the limestone and there is level walking for miles along the restored railway from Kirkby Stephen towards Belah taking in several dramatic viaducts and stunning views.
Nine Standards

Smardale Viaduct

One of our favourite spots when the children were little!
Lose yourself in the beauty of Aira Force, one of the Lake District’s most iconic waterfalls. Located just a short drive from Augill Castle, this majestic cascade tumbles 65 feet into a wooded gorge, surrounded by walks and parkland, with places to picnic, fairy circles and bridges to explore.
National Trust so remember your car park pass, badges or change for the parking machine.
There is a rather lovely National Trust cafe on the site too serving the most delicious tea & cake – and we are rather big fans!

Cautley Spout Waterfall
